Take time to enjoy the great Central Oregon outdoors with your pet, but keep an eye out for these common springtime hazards.
INSECTICIDES, HERBACIDES & LAWN CARE PRODUCTS
Read warning labels, especially with respect to toxicology profiles, and keep your four footed friends well away from treated areas for as long as recommended.
RODENTICIDES & COYOTE BAITS
In rural areas, be aware of possible exposure to toxic substances, either ingested directly by your pet, or ingested when your pet consumes a rodent that has been poisoned.
AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS
especially ethylene glycol antifreeze. It is extremely toxic, and unfortunately sweet tasting and therefore attractive to pets. Use propylene glycol as a safer alternative, but keep this and other products such as windshield wiper fluid, lubricants, etc. stored well out of reach of pets, and clean up spills promptly.
