Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Dr. Keaton Cuthbert received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska, and it was during the last year of her undergraduate degree that she worked the graveyard shift as a veterinary assistant at a local emergency vet hospital. It was there that Dr. Keaton got to experience what the veterinary profession was truly all about. Caring for the animals, as well as fostering strong relationships with the clients, made her realize veterinary medicine was the perfect career for her.

Dr. Keaton moved to Portland, Oregon after college to escape the Alaskan cold, and worked as a veterinary assistant in a small animal clinic for three years prior to pursuing her doctorate. She graduated in 2017 from Oregon State University with her degree in Veterinary Medicine. She has a special interest in rehabilitation for animals, including post-operative recovery, sports medicine, and physiotherapy. This special interest led her to complete a year-long certificate program and become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) through the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Keaton and her husband, Loki, moved to Bend in the spring of 2021 and have been loving all the outdoor activities this area has to offer. On her time off you can find Dr. Keaton hiking, mountain biking, skiing, spending time at local breweries around town, or out adventuring with her English Bulldog, Brixton, and Australian Shepherd, Quinn.
