Dr. Megan Kinnear received her DVM from Washington State University in 2011, and she began cultivating her dream life when she joined the Tumalo Animal Hospital team in 2012.  Dr. Kinnear grew up in Issaquah, WA on a small family farm. At an early age, she began practicing animal care on her horses, geese, chickens, cats, dogs and even on all the injured robins.  She attended undergraduate school at Santa Clara University, receiving a bachelor of science in Sociology and Anthropology. Traveling to Kenya, Australia, New Zealand and Costa Rica, her fervor for creatures continued to grow.

Dr. Kinnear has a passion for the art of veterinary medicine and is dedicated to nurturing the human animal bond.  She attended the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and became certified in small animal veterinary acupuncture.  She has enjoyed incorporating Eastern Medicine into her daily Western practice. Her special interests include internal medicine, disease control, soft tissue surgery and dentistry.

When Dr. Megan is not in the clinic, you can find her in the woods on her mountain bike, on her mountain bike or on her mountain bike.  When the trails are snow covered, you will likely still find her in the woods, but on her skis. Her life is made better by her rescued furbaby, June Bug and her three chickens, Momma, Lil’ Kim and Petunia  She enjoys a good story, bourbon with a ginger cube, and planning her next adventure.
